How We Review
Our editorial process starts with the reader’s use case, then examines product information, available evidence, practical limitations, safety context, and value before reaching a conclusion.
Our approach
RecoveryToolLab evaluates recovery and mobility products in the context of the problem they are designed to address and the people they are intended to serve.
Rather than treating every product as suitable for everyone, we look at factors such as intended use, design, specifications, practical limitations, safety considerations, available evidence, price, and relevant alternatives.
Research basis
We prefer primary sources such as official product documentation, manuals, safety information, and manufacturer specifications when verifying what a product is, how it works, and how the manufacturer says it should be used.
For material health-adjacent claims, we aim to rely on appropriate authoritative sources or peer-reviewed research where relevant and available. Manufacturer-funded research, manufacturer claims, and testimonials are not treated as independent evidence.
When evidence is limited, indirect, mixed, or does not establish a specific product claim, our content should reflect that uncertainty rather than present the claim as established fact.
Hands-on testing
We clearly distinguish between products that have been used or physically evaluated by RecoveryToolLab and products assessed through documentation, specifications, research, and other available sources.
We do not claim hands-on experience when it has not occurred. Documentation-based reviews do not receive invented observations, performance findings, durability claims, comfort assessments, or first-hand language.
When hands-on testing is performed, we aim to explain the relevant testing context and separate direct observations from manufacturer claims and broader research evidence.
What we evaluate
The exact criteria depend on the product category and the purpose of the article. Relevant factors may include intended use, construction, adjustability, ease of use, portability, maintenance, safety information, warranty, price, and how the product differs from reasonable alternatives.
Health-related marketing claims are considered separately from basic product features. A useful design feature does not automatically establish a medical or therapeutic benefit.
Reviews, comparisons, and rankings
Reviews focus on the strengths, limitations, intended use, and available evidence relevant to an individual product.
Comparisons examine meaningful differences between products rather than assuming that one option is universally better. Best-product lists are organized around the use case and evaluation criteria described in the article.
A product's position in an article should reflect the editorial reasoning and criteria relevant to that article, not the commission available from a merchant or affiliate program.
Commercial independence
RecoveryToolLab may earn commissions from qualifying purchases made through certain links, but affiliate availability and commission rates do not determine our editorial conclusions, product ratings, comparisons, or rankings.
A company cannot purchase a favorable review, ranking, or editorial conclusion through an affiliate relationship.
Content should remain useful to readers whether or not they follow a commercial link.
Products provided by brands
Manufacturers or retailers may occasionally provide products, samples, discounts, access, or other benefits for evaluation.
When a material relationship is relevant to published content, we aim to disclose it clearly. Receiving a product or other benefit does not guarantee positive coverage or a recommendation.
Prices and availability
Prices, promotions, stock, shipping terms, warranties, and affiliate program conditions can change after an article is published.
Readers should verify current purchasing information directly with the merchant before making a transaction.
Updates
We may update articles when product specifications change, products are discontinued, important new information becomes available, or an existing article requires clarification.
Material editorial updates may result in an updated page date. Minor formatting, spelling, or technical changes may not.
Corrections
If we identify a material factual error, we aim to correct it promptly. Readers, manufacturers, and other interested parties may also contact us when they believe information should be reviewed or corrected.
Correction requests can be sent to contact@recoverytoollab.com. Please include the relevant page and enough information for us to review the issue.

RecoveryToolLab provides general educational information and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or personalized healthcare advice.
